Rahm Emanuel (White House Chief of Staff) said, "You never want a good crisis to go to waste," in reference to health care reform. But this crisis only seems to be felt among those losing their jobs and their health insurance. Granted that's a growing number of folks, but if reform needs to involve all stakeholders, is there any motivation for private insurance companies (for-profit and non-profit) to participate in reform? What about doctors, pharmaceutical companies, and those who are insured?

The Country As A Whole Against The Select Few
Perhaps the true reason why insurance companies, drug companies, and for-profit agencies will not contribute to health care reform is for the exact same reason mentioned above in this cartoon. NO SURPRISE!!!!
In relation to this week's blog, the New York Times published an op-ed piece regarding our current health care system and how our "economic catastrophe will also be a health care catastrophe." So "why the silence President Obama?", Krugman asks. Those promises of guaranteed health care can't be forgotten because we need "health care now!". Have a look at the article!
